Buddy to Boss: Preparing New Leaders for Transition
The composition of the existing workforce is changing, presenting new opportunities for emerging leaders. During this time of critical transition, it becomes imperative to provide skill development for new leaders to ensure their success. A Forbes article recently published statistics from a Gartner Consulting Firm study, stating: “When a transitioning leader is struggling, their direct reports perform 15% worse on average than those who report to a high-performing manager. They’re also 20% likelier to leave the organization or be disengaged.”
SCMEP is partnering with Clemson University ThinkShops to deliver this dynamic session to prepare emerging leaders and educate newly appointed leaders. Participants will learn how to navigate the transition from a employee/individual contributor role into a management/supervisory role by providing insight, key concepts, and tangible practices to allow them to assume their new roles with greater confidence.
